“In the summer of 1969 I walked out of my first bead store in Seaside Heights NJ, near the world-famous Boardwalk, fascinated by the antique beads. “Wouldn’t it be nice to own a little bead store in a little beach town a few blocks from the ocean!” I said to myself. In those days I’d find shells on the beach, string them on colorful glass beads and give them to my friends to wear. 30 years later I walked into the local bead store to spend a dime and buy one headpin to finish a pair of earrings for my wife’s birthday…..found the store going out of business and bought it with all our savings! Phil Fischman
Phil is a gemstone expert, crystal healing practitioner and the founder of Beads, Crystals and More, a unique and diverse online store and repository of earth-wisdom. He is a nationally certified Gemologist, trained at the world-renowned GIA and was a Senior Founding Member of the National Association of Gem and Jewelry Appraisers.
Phil has dedicated his life to uplifting the lives of others and has wholeheartedly devoted himself for the past 50 years to stewarding an acclaimed collection of precious gems, beautiful beads and healing crystals from around the globe. He began his study of crystals at the age of seven, digging for Garnets, Pyrite, Mica and others near his New Jersey home.
Phil shares his knowledge and his loving heart through one on one consultations with clients internationally via skype sessions, as well as in person at the acclaimed store “Beads Crystals & More” which was voted best bead and crystal store in San Diego.
It is his honor to have supported thousands of people in experiencing far greater well-being in their lives through the transformational power of the healing frequencies contained within these earth elements. Phil and his wife Valeri are committed to sharing with people around the world about the empowering wisdom that nature’s crystals and minerals bring to our lives.
Phil also speaks at public events and conferences entertaining audiences at the Gemological Institute of America, Mingei International Museum, San Diego Bead Society and the San Diego African and Pacific Arts Council and at local schools to inspire children. He speaks on how Mother Earth offers us the incredible gift of working with gemstones as aids and allies for dealing with whatever challenges our life presents, and on small business success.

Valeri Okun
After decades working in the traditional mental health field, Valeri expanded her therapeutic approach and began integrating crystals. Seeing how they can be utilized as a natural aid to address numerous emotional, physical and mental issues for which many seek help. By combining her clinical background with experiential knowledge of how to assist in personal transformation Valeri guides you to deeper connections to both self and the ancient wisdom crystals manifest.
Born in New York City, Valeri moved to Southern California to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Working as a psychotherapist with multiple populations, Valeri became the Clinical Director of a large residential treatment center providing long term care for abused and psychiatrically disturbed youth.
Valeri asks: “What do I learn from these crystal creations of the earth? They promote a sharper focus, clarity of understanding and increased trust in my own inner wisdom. My own health has received numerous spontaneous healings. What is clear is that we have created a vortex for many souls to come to for greater life balance. My gratitude for our work and service through Beads, Crystals and More is abundant.”
Valeri’s life changed when she met Phil in La Jolla, CA. He captured her heart and mind, bringing his passion for the gifts of gems and crystal consciousness into her daily awareness. Their loving partnership is obvious as they spontaneously, affectionately display love, respect and kindness to each other throughout the day.
